Great News and great to see that my prediction two years ago that the River could throw up a near or possible record chub has come to fruition, chub stocks are generally on the decline in the river so less fish means that next year an even bigger chub may be caught, the main issue that really concerns me is that chub habitat is being cut down willy nilly on the main river, if an overhanging branch looks like it may be a health and safety risk to a boat it is now given the chop.there are still a few sanctuaries and the old fishers green stretch where this chub was caught is one of them, lets hope that they don’t open it up to boats!
