The River Severn appears to have run into its best form of the season. I was speaking to Des Taylor the other day and he was on the bank above Bewdley doing a feature – he was fishing pellet and had already had two double figure fish to 13lb and ended up with over 130lb.
Spoke to Steve Maher yesterday and he’s also had 100lb of barbel in the last week – also at Bewdley and this time on stick float and maggot.
The open at Bridgnorth was won with 68-12-0 of barbel (plus a chub) on maggot and hemp feeder from peg 182 – nice to see it’s not all about pellets.
Oh and Des Taylor has also had the biggest zander of the season on the river in the last week 18lb 11oz…
