Hi Chaps, I need a strong margin/carp pole solely for fish paste throughout the warmer months. I don’t need anything longer than 9m, but it does have to be manageable.

I know that the tri casts and shimanos are the better ones but I don’t want to spend more than a ton, because i will need to add all the bits to get it going, laccy bushes etc etc.

The browning black magic caught my eye in today’s angling times as it came with 2 extra top kits which might come in handy, but it was exclusive to fishing republic at £99.00 not delivered.

This seemed a good buy but i am concerned about spares availability as i haven’t owned any browning gear in years.

Does anybody fish with this pole and is it any good or are there any decent alternatives around that price bracket??

        Thanks for any help.

Thanks, but i’m never going anywhere near trabucco again since the problems i had with my gm carp 1. I know the lucifer is probably unbreakable so to speak but its too risky for me.

Take a good look at a shimano beastmaster 850b, they are truly something else, the strength of them is incredible. I don’t think you can actually break one!

The Black Magic’s aren’t ideal short-lining poles. The put-in joints and slim profile of the makes them a better long-line pole as they are quite soft in action. The fact that they bend alot with big fish on is great for line-to-hand fishing, but makes them a sod to take apart when un-shipping as the joint is bent. Seen plenty of crushed joints on them due to this 😮

had a yellow beast master for 4 years or so, you can feel the fish shaking when you’re getting out. 😀

there’s the odd one coming up on ebay, keep an eye out. 🙂

Ive decided on the 2012 beastmaster with the extra top kit, but am waiting on a reply.

Good choice baitchef, the pole is a cracking bit of kit, the sections simply glide through your hands. The finish is possibly better than my tourney pro! 😮 Now go catch those munters 😉 😀
