TF_baitchefParticipantBreads no good it will get ravaged as will mini pop ups. Have you tried the pop up boilie mixes that you make yourself? I’m thinking of making my own super boyant pellet shaped bait from this powdered mix.

AnonymousBaitchef do you not remember the thread about popped up bread from about 6 months ago? Popped up bread works on venues like Cudmore Bradshaws and White Acres. These venues are stuffed full of silvers but the silvers are not a big problem with a cube of crust the size of a 20p.
Unless you fish with a big bomb as described in the popped up bread thread. The carp will normally not hook themselves. Fare from it in fact. Your might even have big problems in seeing bites based on what i,ve learnt about the method. Many of your bites will be small jangles on a quiver tip. Try a swing tip and you will be amazed at the difference in bite registration and you will miss fare fewer bites.

TF_baitchefParticipantI remember the thread tb, and im sure the bread will work as floating bread is deadly when the pleasure anglers fish it, but I want to have an alternative bait as well. The fish have wised up to a shallow approach, they are spooking from the pole tip and where as they would come to the splash of a pellet waggler, they now spook from it. I want to experiment with a pellet shaped bate just suspended under the surface with pinged pellets over the top, as the fish still love to feed from the surface, but surface/floating baits are banned.

AnonymousA few alternatives to try would be sugar puffs and dog biscuts and both work well popped up as alternatives to bread. You could also make some carp cake.

TF_baitchefParticipantHonestly mate if the silvers see that they will bring the jam and clotted cream and have a feast.

AnonymousYou have no faith, mate. Its designed for carp. Much tougher than bread but with some of the advantages.
You can make the cake in the shape of a pike if the silvers are such a problem, lol.
If the silvers are that much of a problem. Then, its pop up boilies or dog biscuits and thats it. Marshmellows would be a wait of time too but they do work for carp as surface baits.

TF_GavinWhy not band a big dry expander pellet if you want to fish pellet?
