Cemex UK to sell rivers and lakes in non-core asset sell-off
25/03/2012
Cemex UK is to dispose of its riverbank and lake assets as part of a wider sell-off of non-core operations, the Guardian reported. The report quoted Cemex UK’s Property Director, Simon Barrett, who described the decision to sell as “very difficult” and went on to say it is unknown as yet whether the company will sell off the lakes individually or as a combined asset.
Cemex Angling, the commercial angling subsidiary, owns 56 lakes, as well as riverbanks and complexes, the report said. It noted that Cemex UK, a building-materials company, is the fourth largest subsidiary of the Mexican company Cemex, with GBP 750m (EUR 897m) yearly sales.
