I fished next to someone yesterday that i haven’t seen for a while and they had a ‘splurge’ on new kit. One thing that really interested me was the new guru adjustable catapult. It was pasted over and was new and unused and set up for the pole line i guess. I loaded it with a few maggots pulled the elastic back let go and ouch xxxx. No mater what technique i or the other guy tried it ended up with a bruised finger everytime . The problem was the hard plastic ‘puller’ on the back of the mesh. If you are going to invest in what looks like a brilliant piece of kit then either change the mesh or get a good finger protector.imo.
I also used the new ‘glow tip’ wagglers at 4gms at 20m ish the 1st didn’t last long before the base weight came out the second followed not long afterwards the problem seems to be a new plastic super smooth eyed peg that fits into the float. The old one’s had more texture so more grip. I’ve now araldited the rest in. They are a brilliant float in that the tips really do shine and there thick enough to to put a fair bit of shot/line on the deck just sick the bases in.

I bought a couple of Guru catapults, I’ve used the same one for 25hrs so far and not had a problem, in fact, I find it better than the Drennan’s I used to use.

10 of those 25hrs was long pole shallow fishing, which was going to be the true test of how good it was, and I found it faulltess.

I’ve been using these catapults for 3 months before they were released in the shops. Not once have I had them twist up on me or tangle!!!
As for them hitting your fingers everytime, that’s certainly not something that I’ve experienced.
Let me ask this, if these catapults were really that bad why would Steve Ringer use them and sacrifice his own fishing!?!?!?!?

I tried the catty – worked well until the peg that holds the elastic to the frame broke – check it out its a very thin peg and maybe a weak point. I’ll try a replacement and see how it goes.
I have bought some wagglerd but not tried em – will look to glue them in. Ive had the pegs come out of the puddle chuckers and have glued them all to make them more robust.

the guru pult is probably great for some. I found the puller pulled off the mesh pouch on both cattys I bought. Also had an elastic go. No pellets no distance just pinkies and casters on the pole. The company couldn’t be bothered answering my Emails
