I’m just about to purchase a new pole, I’ve always used hydro but have noticed a lot of folk seem to use Preston Hollow, how does it compare with hydro ie. action, durability etc.Opinions appreciated please.

I switched to the Preston as it’s much more consistant than Hydro. It doesn’t last as long, but you know when you buy the Preston it’ll be the same lakky you’ve got used to, unlike Hydro which seems to vary from pack to pack now.

Agree with Gavin, that said the white hydro seems to be more consistent than the rest of hydro. My only other observation is that in heavier grades, 14 plus, the hydro seems to be a bit more forgiving than Preston.
Both makes are in my kits and both do a great job. Preston are cheaper but I dont think they are as durable as Hydro as Gavin has said.
