TF_GamagreenJust watching Robson Green on the TV.
Can’t believe what I’m seeing. Shooting carp with a bow and arrow.
Never really liked him to begin with, can’t say what I think of him now.

TF_geepsterParticipantI think we all know by now that this show is not aimed at anglers. If it was, it would not be on network TV.

TF_wightanglerI think the AT or a animal welfare group should publically condone this prat at a national level and issue a formal complaint for irresponsible behaviour given angling’ and EA guidelines re-fish welfare & point out the old NAFAC, Code of conduct..
He’s had plenty of people pointing out his ignorance before when he came out with his ‘fish don’t survive gaffe but the media chose and his website chose to ignore and merely highlight his ignorance further.
A public rebuke from someone of Martin Salter’s standing or a statement by an angling ‘celeb’ like dean Macey or Chris Tarrant might get past the mainstream media ignorance.Personally, i’d happily watch him being harpooned for sport on pay tv.
Those who feel angry might want to let him know their displeasure on his web based ‘fan club’ and personal site.

AnonymousBow fishing is nothing new. Loads of film of bow fishing on youtube. Would you have the same complains if a different TV personality was shown spear fishing in the sea instead of attempting to catch carp with a bow and arrow? I doubt it!
The show is called extreme fishing for a reason. Its aim is to show different aspects of fishing that to some extent, are extreme in one way or another. Bow fishing is just one part of what goes on in the USA. So, why should it not be shown on UK, TV and why would you complain?
Interestingly, Robson Green was not shown hitting a carp with his bow/arrow. I suspect that Robson Green or the producers of the program decided that it would be one step to fare for the carp loving UK audience if he had been seen to actually shoot and kill a carp.

TF_Waveney OneI fully agree Trueblue. Certainly no worse than spear fishing or dare I say National Hunt Racing. I wouldn’t ban either by the way or suggest that anyone involved should be harpooned or beaten with a leather switch to make them jump over fences that they wouldn’t otherwise do.
People shouldn’t apply their own moralities to others in other parts of the world. I know from experience that in Australia carp are considered illegally introduced vermin and if caught they must be killed and left on the bank. It is illegal to return them alive to the water. They are considered more of a nuisance than say rats or signal crayfish over here. Carp in the States are considered vermin as well.

TF_Waveney OneBy the way, I rather enjoy the series. It is a lot better now that some of the swearing has been reduced. I am certainly very envious of the job that he has done. As he said on the ‘one show’ last night, “if you have a job that you enjoy then you need never work again!”

TF_GLEBE1I agree Trueblue! It’s called extreme for a reason, and they did mention the carp needed to be culled before they showed the bow fishing.
Robbos a bit of a tit but i like to see what goes on around the world!

TF_TommoCrikey I never thought I’d see the day. We have a full on bromance going on here with TrueBlue at the centre of it! 🙂
I must admit it didn’t appeal to me so I just switched it off. If you don’t like it don’t watch it! 😎

TF_steviedjust a little reminder, carp were introduced to this country as food. they are not a native fish.
and as for robson green, on a t.v. interview the other year, he belittled fishing and said that he would never do it for fun. put me right off him, but the mrs. still thinks that he is great.
