I have a match booked here through work in May. Would appreciate any advice, tips, methods ect. Only ever fished it once before and that was a couple of years ago.
I have seen some recent results and method at range with pop up mini boilies seems like the in thing. Does the pole line produce many winning weights??

Also, 3 of us who are fishing the match were thinking of having a walk round, leaving the girls to have a chin wag and a meal in the club house. I have been told that this is not allowed, is this true?

Morrey there is a public footpath running alongside the far bank of the lake walk to your hearts content, methods vary from pole and paste to pole and pellet, not forgetting chop and caster little used nowadays as the pellet normally is more productive pellet feeder and method feeder work with hair rigged 6mm pellets or mini boilees if targetting mainly carp, two areas to target on the method I think it’s around 30 or 35 turns or long distance middle around 60 turns, Nigel who runs the gaff is a top bloke give him a bell and he’ll put you right as will lee aka carpcruncher who runs the barston matches, another top geezer.

Moorey, footpath runs all the way round so shouldn’t be a problem especially as Nigel always warns at the draw not to leave poles etc blocking what must be public right of way. Methods as Fred says with pole prob working if you are fishing later, would pay to keep an eye on Monday PM results.
