TF_geepsterParticipantOkay had a meeting with Roy today although he is snowed under with another Marukyu presentation day….
The venue will be split into two zones on The Glebe only (not Foundation) for Thursday and Friday’s festival…. this is so you can’t draw the same lake (zone) both days.
Sections will be of 6-7 people with the payout identical on all of them. There are likely to be two sections on Pool 1 and on the smaller lakes, one section. Roy will work this out on Wednesday based on the entry of 52 anglers.
The match will be decided on section points first… and in the event of a tie on total weight countback.
Draw will be at 10am on Thursday at the fishery with fishing midday to 6pm…
The canteen on the race circuit will be open Thursday for breakfast, but only until 9am, after which it closes for a race meeting. So if you are going to leave the canteen after 9, you need to park over the way and walk over the bridge.
The draw for the second day will also be made on Thursday so you can go straight to your peg on Friday. This will probably be done after the match on Thursday, back at the marquee at the fishery, when you can see how people have done on Day One.
Fishing on Friday will be 10.30am to 4pm so people can leave at a reasonable time. Section and overall payouts will be after the match back at the Marquee.
No raffle prizes are required – however, everyone is required to pay another £20 at the draw. If they do not pay this, they can’t fish.
This will be split between section payouts and the chosen charities, we we can vote on after the match on the first day. At least half needs to go to the Angling Trust/Fish Legal.
UPDATE
Just to be clear as apparently the above is confusing, the initial entry money is as always, with half going to charity and half to payouts. The extra £20 is split between a random peg draw after the match which anyone can collect from, and the charity. It means that everyone will contribute the same to the charity rather than some people bringing great raffle prizes and spending a lot on tickets, and some people bringing nothing and spending little or nothing on raffle tickets. There will probably be an additional optional pool but I’m not getting involved in this.
A couple of the Glebe regulars will organise the draw…. Russelli’s not fishing but I think Jamie is and he’s involved in the draw I think.
See you there at 10am Thursday…..

TF_kev34Myself,andy williams and jamie will help sort the draw out 🙂
Im sure someone will sort a super pools out 😮
Also what happened to the random peg draw for the £5 thats taken from the £20 we all have to pay 😮
Some anglers won`t be happy that there lining the better anglers pockets by adding another £5 each to the pot even after shelling £40 for 2 days already!..At least they have a chance with the random peg draw of winning some money 🙁
Either that or just scrap the £20 and pay £15 to the charity each!

deano1ParticipantIm not putting anymore money in the pools 😡
Would rather just pay £15 for the charity if your not giving people like me who are shit a chance of winning something 😮

TF_PikeyBefore everyone jumps on their high horse about the section draw, isn’t that what Geeps is talking about in his post when he says the £20 is split between the Charities and the section pay out.
Suprised they are drawing Fridays pegs on Thursday after the “Gardening Saga” the other year. No tthat I’m worried either way, I’m just going for a couple of days fishing with some mates on a superb venue. -

Dave the extra £20 was instead of a raffle,£15 to charity and the other £5 was gonna be put in the hat for a random peg draw so 10 people could win some free cash instead of a crappy bottle of wine….
That £5 is now gonna be put in the pot along with the £1000 thats already been put in by the anglers 😮
Im sure all the decent anglers amongst us will now be rubbing there hands knowing the lesser mortals have bumped up the piggy bank 😡

TF_jammy1976Whilst I know the pegs inside out and how to peg the pools to get the best from them I’m not keen on getting involved with thurs night for friday draw, so why not a rolling draw on fri between 8 and 9? Also a third party can draw my peg just incase I stumble on a good un.

TF_PikeyKev – What does the £40 we’ve paid go towards then ?
-
14/05/2012 at 9:41 pm #158682
TF_steve rInstead of moaning on here why not contact Geeps direct or by PM, I’m just about to and I’ll mention the peg draw [as most people who expressed an opinion agreed with it] and drawing on day 2 [not the night before]. The whole idea behind the later finish on day 1 was so everyone could just go to their hotel/home straight after weighing-in with the draw done the following morning !

Peg fees £10 per day X 2 [Which are donated back by Roy to the charity[ies]
Trophies/Pools £20
The extra £20 payable on Thursday is £15 towards the charity[ies] and £5 towards the random peg draw which replaces the raffle [Or £10 + £10 with extra random draws, we’ll decide on Thursday !].
The extra £20 is nothing to do with the pools payout, I think Geeps is getting a bit confused [and if he’s not he will when I slap him. LOL].
As I’m not involved with the raffle I’m free now to help out with draw if you need any extra help?

TF_geepsterParticipantI’m not confused that’s exactly how I understand it as well Steve.
Does this help?

TF_geepsterParticipantOne more rule for the festival I forgot to mention.
Everyone’s weight will be halved.
These halves will be added up together.
And then added to my weight…
I need it. I’ve not fished a match for nearly a year!
