          Yesterday’s match (Fished from 10:30 – 4:00)

15 Anglers on Lake 1 caught 1,517 lb for an average weight of 101 lb per angler

There were 17 weights over 100 lbs in the match

The top weight (from Lake 5) was Andy Kinder with 199 lb 8 oz

The water is still cold and most fish were caught on the feeder, with a few caught down the edge in the last hour

I’m told Sunday was miles better than Saturday, which will be either cause some bait had gone in, because the wind switched from a very cold northerly to a warmer westerly… or a combination of both….

Sunday was MUCH BETTER than Saturday !!

I think that most fish were caught on feeder and krilled dead reds or JPz. Kev had 186 lb on feeder and dead reds on peg 22 and Andy Kinder had all his fish (199 lb 8 oz) on feeder on peg 78 but I don’t know what he had on the hook.

Ross your 60lb of skimmers should also get a mention 😮

Don’t exagerate, he told me it was 50lb.

Andy caught on dead maggots – he did have 3 lumps down the edge in the last 30 mins as well as a lot of fish on the feeder.

50 lb or 60 lb….who’s arguing…it was somewhere in the middle I think. But yes, it was a brilliant afternoon’s fishing, all caught on dead krilled maggots and feeding dead maggots and EFG131.

I was in a recognised skimmer area (Peg 16) AND had the benefit of Mr Marlow sitting behind me, slagging off my limited abilities and making me change my rig so that I could see a bite !!. I caught loads more once he buggered off to humiliate somebody else 😀 😀

And just to demonstrate my total lack of ability, yesterday on the Marukyu press day I took myself off and fished the boards on Uglies…..caught ONE 10 lb carp and a few perch. A blind, one armed angler would have caught more than that !!. But at least I’ve fed it for whoever draws it on Thursday 😀

Which side of the boards did you fish? Back to lake one or facing it?

Wendy Perry reported 70lb of fish on the new Marukyu Nori paste yesterday in 4 hours of fishing.

Good to hear people catching on the Krilled maggots as well from reading some of your comments above.

😀 Facing Lake 1 ie. about 3 feet from my car !!

And I was using a Wilkie float that I like a lot, so had no intention of getting too close to those boards and losing that float 😀

I have fished this peg quite a few times because as you say its next to the car. I have been told the one opposite is better. It is a bit of a walk and can be very boggy so have not tried it yet.
I have found the peg is a bit hit and miss, sometimes they are there and will have a go and sometimes not. If you fish towards the boards they take some dragging out and tackle losses can be high.
Plumbing up in the peg is strange too especially close in to the right it drops off very quickly.
                              Cant wait to get started.
