Ringstead Catch Report May 28th, 2012

The weather finally warmed up last week and we have been basking in a heatwave which did little for the fishing other than sending the fish into deep water and not feeding until the final hour of the day.The earlier part of the week saw anglers catching some good fish on buzzers, damsel nymphs but the latter part of the week it was dries on the surface in the last hour or damsel nymph scraped along the bottom in the deep water areas.
There has been an abundance of damsels, lake olives and mayflies hatching all week and with the promise of cooler moist conditions/cloud cover this week we should see more activity during the day through to the evenings.
Weekly stocking continues with some of the stock fish now being in excess of 6lb.

89 anglers caught 149 rainbows and 3 browns with 55 rainbows and 3 browns returned safely

        Best Areas- Boats:Deeps,Mill Corner,Middle Lake.
        Bank:Sandbank,Mill Corner,Willow Bay,Lodge Frontage Platforms.

        Best Patterns:Damsel Nymph,Diawl Bach[Blue Rib],PTN,Hares Ear,Black&Olive Buzzers.
