yes mate,exactly the same way :(.
but the only loss from my being banned.was to the genuine and honest posters on there.

Think i was the first to be banned from MFS. Nothing to do with beaking any of there forum rules, winding anybody up or even being contoversial in a thread. I could not have been beter behaved on that forum!

If your not prepared to kiss arse and/or have your own opinion on things on that or other forums. Then, your gone without warning. Nice way of doing things!

I was just blocked with no explanation or warning. I did expect it as i was never part of that old clique.

You have to remember that a certain little hitler needs to hit the eject button regularly to make himself feel like a real man. He will never be that!!!

What did you say or do?

Just think of it as there loss and this and a few other forums gain.

i was never made welcome by the mods since day one of joining,and they made this clear at every given opportunity. 😡
there are many genuine people on there,many have kindly kept in contact since my ban,and asking for my return{thanks lads,you know who you are 😎 }
and it is those posters i feel sorry for,they suffer to satisfy the ego of a few 🙁
i was banned for being too honest in helping others,and recieved quite a few warnings for doing so.and refusing to kiss backsides in the process.
but i am better off away from all the crap,and still helping anyone when i can with real advise,and not manufactured rubbish.

There’s a strange atmosphere on there. You get quickly jumped on by a certain view if you don’t tow the line.

Anyone I know who has received a ban whether temporary or permanent [including me.LOL] has always received an email from the powers that be explaining why.

that my be the case on other forums,but my ban notification was done quietly away from the MFS site,while i was still at work and not even online at the time. :confused: .the reason given on the forum by the said powers that be,was a complete fabrication,so far removed from the truth that it would need more than a moral compass to find its way back to reality.and the sad fact is a couple of others were more than willing to help keep me off there for good 🙁

I have never been a member, I was asked if I would like to join when it first emerged, but politely declined the offer, the reason for not joining? I have always thought, and I believe I am proved correct over time, that yet another site would only water down a couple of hundred “posters” that bother to use the internet to express a view, I have always tried to remain loyal to this site as it has a more liberal outlook to the twats that lurk on these type of forums, because (IMO) without the twats, there is never good debate, as long as I can remember TF has always had a good stock of twats :rolleyes:

I was banned before they closed the door on the open part of the forum, Steve r. No explanation was given to why i was banned. There was no reason for me to be banned other than it being TrueBlue who has a point of view on this forum and attempts to help others if i can. I sent a PM on here to one of those who set up MFS (one of the few who i knew to be fair). I was allowed to go back on the open part of the forum again but was told to be careful as a few where out to get me off the forum. I took that advice and stayed away for anything controversial or contentious. After a few weeks i was banned again without reason or an e-mail to explain why. So, this time i e-mailed BnF. He confirmed that he was the one who banned me from MFS. The reason why i was banned was because he did not like one of my posts on Total Fishing forum. Oh, and i had not payed £5 to join the members part of the forum. The thread that offended BnF had nothing to do with MFS or any member of that site. And, no other member of any site found offence in my post except BnF.

doesnt mfs stand for match fishing sheep because that is what it can feel like if you are a bit controversial on that site and the other posters all start baaing at you with one voice.

We all know the internet is just a virtual world,and there is a life away from the computer.and fishing is just an enjoyable hobby for many of us,and not an everyday job.
but for certain people to take it that seriously that they ban posters on a whim,with little or even no genuine reason given it most cases.you have to ask yourself just how serious some actually do take it,and do they actually want forums to suceed and posters to contribute.or is it just an ego trip.?

Think that particular site could quite happily carry on with the same ten people. Mutual appreciation.

On more than one occasion I personally talked you out of this. On your last unprovoked flare up you again requested your membership be terminated. As you had made personal attacks on another member, this contravened site rules and your request for membership to be revoked was upheld.

Hello Jads. Hope you and your family are doing well? Its been a while since we last talked. Use to enjoy our conversations and we had a fair few.

I notice that there is no explanation from you or anybody else from MFS over why i was banned from MFS. I still have the e-mails sent between myself and BnF from when i was banned. Maybe you would like to look in to them as you seem to be suggesting that you have access to them. I would then be pleased if you would then come back to this forum with a explanation as to why i was banned.

As i think we both know. I have always attempted to stay within the rules on this forum and always did while i had access to the open part of MFS.

The only explanation i can come up with for me being banned from MFS forum is a personal one. If i had logged on as someone other than TrueBlue. I would never have been banned either first time around or for a second time once BnF realised that i still had access to the site.

As you claim that no one has more absaloute power over anyone else. Decisions are made unilaterally contrary to public beleif. Then, maybe its time for me to be given a valid reason for why i was banned or give me the option to join in the fun on MFS once again!

Hi Jads, No, Daniel works offshore now and when he is at home he spends his valuable time with his wife and two kids, we sometimes have a night session for large carp, I had one of 27.5lb last month from Weybread no 1 pit….all he caught was bream ha ha, this winter I have not bothered with match fishing at all, instead I hit the gym weight training 5 times a week, I have dropped 2.5 stone of fat and am at my leanest for many,many years, I will be fishing the river Yare matches this summer, I think the sad and sudden death of the match organiser Keith Ford last summer on the Yare is my prime motivation, I recall on a couple of occasions struggling for breath when pushing a very heavy barrow of tackle and bait through the long grass on some sections, I can also recall seeing and helping other anglers over the flood bank with their gear, some were really struggling, I fear another tragedy this summer is a very real possibility……….lets hope not,

Have you tried the ‘Strimmer Workout’ Bob ? You will lose more weight than down the gym and the path will be easier to push your barrow along !

All joking aside though do we need to carry all that gear and bait ? Is it just me getting older or does it really weigh 3 times what it used to because we’re carrying more ? Do we over-complicate the combination of methods we may need and carry extra tackle to suit ?

When I first got back into fishing after the sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll period [LOL] I had one of those plastic Shakespeare [Was it Riva or Rive?] boxes that was fulll to the brim with reels and other tackle. Couple that with a stuffed full carryall, rod holdall and, more often than not a platform which was all carried by hand, and you wonder how we used to do it, walking miles across muddy fields for Winter Leagues etc. – no wonder the commercials are so popular nowadays 😉

Glad to hear you’re well and that Daniel has got his priorities right – you can fish anytime but you don’t get a second chance to see your kids grow up !

Hi Steve R, Yep all the gear I carry/use on the Yare is necessary, two made up feeder rods, one pole with 4 top 5s, winders and feeders, waders, waterproofs, platform and of course 5 kilo of GB, cordless drill and spare battery to mix it, buckets, maggots,casters,1 kilo of worms…..and of course at least 1.5 ltrs of drinking water, I know some only take a couple of feeder rods and hope the Bream show, but that is too hit and miss to be consistent, Nick Larkin (NISA) sponsors his feeder master series throughout the summer, on my come back to the river last year I finished in the top 10, this year I hope to do better…….. at least I should make it to my peg ha ha.

Dan is very ambitious and is working his way up within the company he works for…..his motivation is his wonderful family.

As for strimming, the EA appear to have done it this year! a big ,big bonus for the new match organiser Andy Sutter, I walked my two dogs along the left side of the Beauchamps arms the other day and it was trimmed right down, Andy told me he has managed to get on all the vital committees Keith used to sit on and he is doing wonders, the bloke has only recently retired and has never been so busy! 🙂

I’ve never paid to join the MFS full site ….. seems mostly to be a bunch of anglers who fish 1 or 2 venues and are completely carp obsessed …. most of them seem to think that 50lb is a poor match weight!!
Can’t say that it’s got much relevance to me …. occasionally pick up a nugget … mainly if Dave Roberts or one of the better all round anglers posts

If you don’t become a member you don’t get access to the full site content which is probably why you felt it didn’t have much relevance to you !
Unfortunately fishing nowadays is mostly carp [commercials] orientated but there are more than a fair number or river/canal/natural lake venue matches organised on MFS as well.

good products sell themselves with good advertising and on the bank testing.

i have never banned myself from any forum,just chosen not to log in and post now and again.
but was definately banned from MFS for being too honest for a few people to handle,and not allowed to honest enough for everyone else.the fact is that despite being continually told my account is still active,my name was removed from the members list,and all settings locked out over 4 months ago.?LOL

GLEBE1 is a top lad dodge and wouldn’t mean anything to be said in the wrong way he also is a anti marukyu angler and clears up more often then not 😀 😀 😀 but very rarely gets a mention yet the bloke that feeds 30 tins of corn with liquid krill is a god 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 don’t you just love fishing

i look at the Internet websites and have done for years i like them and again Ive learned loads of different things witch has helped my fishing and they come straight from the horses mouth and not set in print 😉 but unfortunately there odd individuals that attack answers that are often suggestions this is why thousands view theses site yet very rarely post .its a shame because no-one has ever mastered the art of fishing and often you have learnt something new on every visit to the bank
top anglers are good but perhaps they are fishing 6 times a week so they get out what they put in fair-play to them yet so anglers can’t except this and call them draw bags
baits are baits yet simple bread has been around longer than anything else
fishing and anglers are there own worst enemies and it the same on websites if you can’t take it don’t give it 😉 😉 😉 😉
one other little point often when something is written down it can be seen to be harsh often i open letters and straight away take them the wrong way i’m sure this happens on websites as well

I understand what you mean now paul.i personally have returned items for exchange that were faulty,but they were exchanged for different items as the faults found were with every item in that description,and not one offs.
the main problem in my personal opinion is manufacturers continually trying to flood the market to outdo the competion.and therefore many items have little or no fieldtesting before release.and certain brand names sell based soley on their name first and foremost,and not always with any afterthought taken into account untill it is too late and the item is useless.we as anglers do not always help these matters as many often just make do,or sell these items on without complaint.so no action is rarely taken to solve this.also i believe more public involvement and input in product development is needed.

as for the banning thing,some can be password mix ups.but i was unfairly banned offline,and out of sight of the MFS forum,with no reason given by the moderating team.just a pathetic lie told by one individual,who also lied to everyone on MFS about my not being banned,but left of my own accord,but could come back anytime.this was after my account was locked and my profile settings blocked by said person of course. 🙁

I would like to pick up on a few points that have been posted in this thread.
The way producte are pushed at us from all directions does make things confusing for the majority of anglers and the aggresive sales pitch used can steer people away from open forums if not angling altogether .
It is therefore up to the more senior anglers (both in years and skills) to help the less able anglers enjoy and improve the way they fish by giving helpful advise and imformation.
A new angler would read through some of these post and think what a bunch of tossers
we all know that isn’t true but from the outside that’s how it looks
The internet makes it easy for people to stay in touch with each other (which is what its all about) its when people take it on themselves to make things personal that it all gets out of hand.
I have attached something from my past this was a product was fronted by a high profile angler of the time and sold by the shed or should I say loft load.
This was first released by Van Den Eynde but was closley follow by sensas these being the top two groundbait suppliers of the time

Pigeon Sh*t Britain’s top canal squat angler Mark Pollard always uses Pigeon as part of his groundbait mix…. I don’t know what it is about Van Den Eynde Pigeon that makes it so attractive to roach. But I do know that since I’ve been using it as part of my canal groundbait, my catches have increased on many venues.. It’s made from the dried droppings of racing pigeons fed on only the best-quality seeds, so what goes in one end comes out from the other in finely ground form. As an addition to groundbait, it releases lots of oils and also adds a lot of cloud effect to the groundbait. I use it with Supercup, Supermatch and Crushed Hemp, always riddling after mixing.

How many of todays anglers would use this!!!!!

I’ve just got hold of a copy of John Carding’s “Continental Match Fishing” where there is a section on french groundbait constituents (not commercial mixes)…… Pigeon poo is included in there (particularly hemp fed).

Wonder bait …… don’t believe any of it myself ….. there’s the right bait for how the fish are feeding on the day. The only evidence I’ve ever seen for a wonder bait was that chap who took apart the humberside scene for a couple of years (was it Mark Hutchinson?).

Loda – no, it was the Ancholme and suchlike ….. it was Hutchison or Hutchinson I’m sure ….. very late 80s early 90s from memory.
There was the ground bait feeder man on the Trent in the mid 80s as well (something Bryan I think) ….. one fabulous season and then nothing.

Lastly we all come from different proffessions and walks of life so typing good English / grammar ,and sentences that actually are readable at times doesnt come naturaly for most anglers ……. thank god for twtter !!! like you and i’ve got to be honest here…i find repeted questions annoying..i.e what hooks elastics …how to set up a method feeder etc,,,now don’t get me wrong we’ve all got to learn from some where and some times its enjoyable to answer and to help these guys out…but its when the same question pops up half dozen times by half a dozen different user’s in the same week..it does get a tad annoying..especialy when the thread is still live and active..lol
