Went to Woodlands on Saturday for the fisho. Was any one else supprised to see a lot of floating dead fish, and one or two rotting on the bank ,along with a lot of rubbish. Thought this could of been cleaned up prior to such a big event.

That doesnt sound very good mate n yes i agree with you why cant some of these fishery owners have a bit more thought for how bad it looks to see dead fish everywhere it wouldnt take that long to walk round every day n clean the fishery up. they are quick enough to take our money n who wants to go fishing n put up with the stench of rotting fish

No dead fish evident on Kestrel – maybe because their are less in that lake to lose in the first place!
Some of the vegetation could do with a trim, its was a pain trying to get gear down the paths in some areas – this is a very big site and would benefit from regular maintenance; litter can be a problem, Ive seen plenty left from mainly pleasure anglers when setting up on opens, it would be a couple of hours job each morning just to keep up to that, something I dont think the owner reflects in terms of staff resource.
Back to the fishing, as I previously posted it fished very hard, as many waters are at the moment; final point is to have more than a little sympathy for the chap who finished 3rd as he missed his keepnet with a fish that would have won him the match. Ouch.

We have just encountered spring burn out chaps, Its funny how everyone that mentions dead fish kicking about the place its always just after spawning, I do agree though theres no harm in clearing them up !!!!
