TF_craigmI bought the Garbo M1 a couple of months ago and its very impressive, rigid, responsive, well balanced and very strong. I had an Airity but fell out with it when it kept coming apart and I dropped the top 6 in a lake. 😮

TF_craigmThe finish is excellent mate, no problems with it sticking when damp/wet etc – its been pretty good on Garbo poles since the G10.

TF_MatchcarpGot to say tho the pole sections will work loose if your doing a lot of slapping so keep an eye on sections by just giving them an occasional check as your shipping out, it’s only a few seconds/ hour 😉

TF_carpa22ParticipantDaz an earlier post on this site summed everything up on manufacturers top end poles, there is not a lot of difference between any of them its what feels right for you, i bought an Airity about 3 months ago and have to say it is some piece of kit i love it other people don t, have a look at them all don t rush into buying something thats the best part of £2000+ its what feels right.

TF_andynorth2003ParticipantGarbolino all the way, Ive had an Airity before the Garbo.
The Garbolino is longer and stiffer, yes its a little bit heavier, but you are holding more carbon remember when comparing what you think are both 16m poles (Daiwa’s come up a lot shorter).
In my opinion, the powerlites are a million times better than the Daiwa power kits, when fishing with heavy gear long. (standard match kits are a bit stronger on Daiwa’s to be fair, but this doesnt bother me, as anything above double 6 I use powerlites)
The short 4’s are also not that short on Garbo’s unlike the Daiwa’s which should really be called mini 4’s!! haha.

TF_mikeyt1986I went from a pro x, to a gmax 1000 and now to the new Airity and in my opinion the Airity is the best pole by quite a margin.

TF_Cutnutunless that TP is in tip top condition and at the right price keep walking and save the dosh for the Airity or the M1 … I’m a Daiwa stalwart and imho the TP is not a patch on the Airity.

Use the search function top right and find loads of threads about whats better than what and why.
Its personal so don’t get too drawn in as both M1 and Airity will have downsides but are both flagship poles (e.g. still not had my Airity work loose ever but it aint as long as an M1 unless I add an extention then its as heavy as M1, but not as stiff, but has stronger top kits, Airity finish wears off, Z12 and Sensas XL sections are too long etc etc…………I could go on! and on and on!!!)Enjoy your new pole and yes the Airity is significantly better than the TPro…..and so is the M1…………

TF_scottypJust to throw a spanner in the works – take a look at the MAP TKS 825 – had mine for a few months now and love it.
Finish is superb, nearly lost it first time i used it as it slid so easily – mega stiff, had it side by side with an M1 and it was as stiff (their behaviour was slightly different – the M1 movement was in the number 5 section, the 825 movement was over the whole length – interersting) – although slightly shorter (but the MAP short 4 is proper short)
Great spares package with 2 short 4’s, 3 long 4’s, 5 match and 2 power kits and a cupping kit – with top kits very cheap.
Seriously good pole -
