TF_JohnHI have the Pro X 16m with extensions and want to know if the Airity sections are interchangable. Basically if I buy a 13m Airity package will my 14 and 16m Pro X sections fit up the back end?
I have had to have a couple of repairs done on the 6th and 7th sections on my X after it blew off a tripod type roller and I am weighing up if to replace them or just to buy the Airity system at 13m. -

TF_iansi01354They are all interchangable TPro, ProX, Black and silver Airity as well as a fair few other mid range Daiwa’s.

TF_JohnHThanks Ian thought so. The 13m package is quite a bit cheaper even with the spares I wont need.

AnonymousI was told by our Daiwa rep the they don’t fit. The 13m version is a different pole altogether as this pole was developed for the European market as that is there pole limit

TF_carpa22ParticipantCooperman i think you are right the 13mtr version is based round the european market.

TF_JohnHThanks for the replies, I will have to check before buying. Shame, as the 13m package is about £800 cheaper than the 16m. If the 14 and 16m sections wont fit I suspect it will be a new 6 and 7 for the X.
I can see why Daiwa might do this as anyone upgrading from the Pro or the X would just buy the 13m Airity pole. -

TF_david07I bought the 13 metre package of the “old” Black Airity from Ians Fishing Tackle in Staffordshire about 18 months ago and use the 14.5 and 16 metre sections of my “origional” Tourney Pro with it without any problem at all. I carry both poles as ALL of the sectiions are interchangeable and it means that I always have spare sections to hand. Hope that this helps. 🙂

TF_JohnHThanks David, so it seems they are the same!!
I thought it odd that Daiwa would make the 13m Airtiy on different mandrels to the 16m pole.
I will check with my tackle shop. -

TF_david07No problem JohnH. I don’t know why more people don’t do this as I can’t see any difference between my “mix and match” pole (some of the top kits and 4th sections are from a Daiwa 412 and a Daiwa Tournament X, both about 12 years old!) and the current “silver” Airity, especially when using hollow/hydro elastics long as they weigh a ton in themselves

TF_JohnHThe 13m package is targeted at the continental market due to CIPS 13 m limit on pole length. However most anglers here, me included, will rarely use a 16m section unless we are fishing a lot competitively.
The price difference 13m to 16m is huge, though I accept spares packages are extended.
However if you are upgrading these are not required in the main. -

TF_AmerParticipantThe DAP130 is a 13m pole option, the extensions from the TPX will fit up the back end of it to take it to 14.4m and 16m.
The pole that has been made as a 13m model and wont interchange is the Airity Super slim (DA-SS130AU). A slimmed down version of the Airity and has been made with continental fishing in mind.
