I agree with the Guru recommendation & also W.B. Clarke Matchteam (was Silstar). I also use the matchteam for stick float fishing on a centre pin.
            That makes me feel old!!

Another vote for Guru N gauge, tie up rigs on 017 and fish either 011/013 but if lumps around will go to 015.

I’ve just changed all my Shimano for Gamakatsu G, amazingly never had a break Sunday.

Gamakatsu G, really supple but very strong. I never seem to struggle with it weakening at the knot either.

Only one to use in my opinion is ultima power match this line doesn’t crinkle when tieing hooks doesn’t crinkle when moving shots or styles the stuffs super strong and brillient, as a test move a shot up and down your line of choice very fast until the shot gets red hot if the line fails crinkles or weakens bin it and then go out and buy some ultima power match because rest assured a carp will move shots or stots up the line very fast when it goes takes your line threw the undergrowth. super line and before anyone asks no I am not a sponsered angler. 😉 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

The line is also soft and supple unlike some of the lines that are like cheesewire 😮

Cheers for the replys am swaying towards the gamakatsu g line but the super g line has stronger breaking strain for its diameter so has anyone used it because I don’t want to go buy spools of it and end up with loads of spools crap like the aspire I have

The Gama is the superior line
