A good turn-out of 30 anglers found the lake a little more difficult than of late with the higher air pressure and still conditions making the lakes massive shoals of bream slow down their recent feeding spree, though the top weight was one of the highest of the last year or two.

Maurice Williams continued his strong recent form with another outstanding win. Maurice fished his favourite method feeder with small boilies on the hook on fancied peg 69 to take one carp of 10lb and 30 bream with a few skimmers for a 91lb 6oz total.

The chasing pack were some way behind and they all tapped into the lake’s massive head of small skimmer bream by using pole tactics with a variety of hookbaits fished over groundbait.

Ex Fishomania champion Neil McKinnon took runner up spot using maggots to take a cracking 54lb 13oz bag from peg 63.
Redditch angler Tony Pallett took third spot with 42lb 10oz ahead of another local John Walkden with 36lb 6oz and Bryan Nicholls with a level 33lb return.
