Picture the scene, you get to the lake only to find that its a blazing hot day and the surface of the lake is black with cruising fish not remotely interested in feeding.

So What do you do and how do you get fish feeding??

Mug them. Sometimes it’s the only way but some don’t like that method.

Pop ups on the bomb set about 12 to 18 inches deep. Feed nothing but use visible bait like bread. If you ship a pole over them or repeatedly cast wags or chuck bait at them they clear off. I would feed down the edge too as they obviously want to be in shallow water. If they are out of pole range you can fish pole shallow, maybe on a long line, and feed a few pelllets ot better still meat, as it sinks slower. Any that want bait will come onto your line.

Zig Rig carpa styley on your match gear.
Bread on the hook, set 12 to 18″ deep as JohnH says.
                Works every time!
