With a tinge of colour still in the water, the River Avon’s roach stocks once again provided consistent sport throughout the match length. Winner on the day was Chris Smith, who caught some chunky perch and a bonus tench fishing chopped worms and casters down the edge, before switching to a 13m hemp line and adding some quality roach to make up his 11-10-0 winning haul.
Second placed Richard Steele also found hemp to be a very productive tactic. He again fed seed on the long pole for his 9-5-0 net. Drawn on peg 43, Paul Glenfield started his session on a maggot feeder, catching several chunky perch and a couple of eels. As the match moved in to its closing stages, he too switched to hempseed, adding several quality roach to make up his 9-2-0 net.

A torrential downpour of rain just before the start of the match, added a little extra colour to the water, which once again fished well throughout its length. Drawn on peg 15, Luton rod Michael Buchwalder came out on top on the day with a 10-15-0 net. Michael started his match on a small maggot feeder, taking chunky perch and a couple of bonus eels. Halfway through the match, he switched to a 13m pole line that he had been feeding with hempseed, where he added a succession of quality roach to his net.
