Posting on behalf of Andrew Williams(marukyu )….Im also hoping to make it as it sounds like a fantastic opportunity to help pass on some Angling knowledge to a few youngsters.

This Saturday, August 25th, there is a very special event at the Glebe Fishery, near Peckleton in Leicester. It’s all about raising awareness – and hopefully some funds – for the Get Hooked on Fishing Charity. If you’d like to take part in what I am going to call the friendliest match you will ever fish, you can. It will cost you £15 and that is to go towards the food that you’ll get before and after the event.

It’s a team event and you will be fishing in groups, each one with a maximum of four, with a young person from one of the Get Hooked on Fishing projects around the country.

It will be fished as a normal match, with optional pools on the day BUT there is a special trophy sponsored by Marukyu baits and to win this trophy you have to make sure that the young person in your team has the highest-weigh-in of all the other youngsters. The top weight angler in that group will win this fabulous trophy.

We’ll ensure that all the youngsters get something from the day too.

Mallory Park Fisheries are very generously donating the pegs for the day and if you’ve never fished the Glebe you will be in for a proper treat. If you have fished it already, then you’ll know all about it. Remember on the Angling Trust masters a couple of weeks ago the winning team only had two anglers weighing in less than 100lb and the top 3 anglers had over 177lb each.

The fishery is near Peckleton in Leicester, not far from the famous mallory Park race circuit and if you’d like details please [email protected] or [email protected] .

Get Hooked on Fishing is a magnificent charity that spreads the angling word across all sorts of abilities in many ways and you could play a part in helping that work.

The draw will take place at The Glebe at 09:00hrs & food will be available on site.”

Hope to see a few faces 🙂
