Ok thanks guys, having looked a bit deeper into this do I need to buy multiple cutters (expensive!) for different sizes of meat (Tilley?) or is there one cutter which will cut different sizes as required? I feel the Tilley style with wire would be the best but don’t want to buy more than one.

I’ve been using a MAP cutter for a while now and I cant fault it. You can also buy different sets of cutting blades that just slot in, which is not only cheaper than buying multiple cutters, but less bulky if you want to take them on to the bank with you too.

I only use a 6mm cutter, To be honest I like putting my meat through a Sensas groundbait riddle, slice your meat into 7mm slices and push it straight through the riddle, you get a nice cubed meat thats not too uniformed in appearance.

another vote for tilley, had mine years! 6mm cutter, if i want smaller then i will put the cubes back through it to get a mish mash of pieces, if i want anything bigger ill just cut it at the bank with my penknife!

MAP. Its good and versatile due to the ability to change cutting blades without carrying multiple cutters.

Nigella Lawson, Sophie Dahl or Lorraine Pascal ……. Culinary wishful thinking. Wouldn’t leave the kitchen though.
