I think we have a really fascinating day ahead. The top two teams are bound to go for bleak again but I would be pretty certain more big fish will be caught. For a start the teams that are out of it (including all the home nations apart from England) will fish for big fish with bream the main target. Plus the big fish have been fighting a very strong current for three days and the river is now fining down – they will be more spread out and are far more likely to have a go… Re belgium… They may well go for broke… I know the manager from my time fishing these events and he’s won all team medals apart from a gold in his tenure I think… His team are comfortable fishing for them and I would imagine he does not think his team can actually win the gold fishing for bleak – we will see but that would be my bet… on the other hand with fewer teams fishing for the bleak it will mean that those who get their head down will draw and catch more of them… As for England they were a bit unlucky … I gather DES shipp was told to go for big fish and got one, but lost another one at the net that would have gained him four or five more places. They still have a chance of a medal…
