        Hi all,

Our club season has just finished and I’m enquiring to see if anyone knows of any good matches that are run on rivers or canals through the winter months – our clubs matches are all on commercials so i fancy a few natural fisheries for a break – i live in manchester but am willing to travel to the right venue – I hear the river don is meant to be good and also the shropshire union canal in stoke.

so my question is does anyone know any clubs that run winter matches and/or open matches on these types of venues – any help would be greatly appreciated.

        thanks for your time, pete.

Warrington AA are running a teams of 4 canal league which starts this saturday . It has been opened up to NON members this year. Venues include the Bridgewater canal @ Lymm , Sale / Timperley plus the Macclesfield canal @ Congleton.

Flagger is running the series and can be contacted via Cheshire Angling.

£10 pools on the day plus team entry first match.

Three matches every week on the Leeds-Liverpool, run by Wigan & DAA. The venues are posted on their website, along with the phone number of the organiser. It’s £7 all-in and no need to book on.

They’re on Wednesdays, Saturdays & Sundays (no flyers on Sundays when leagues are in progress)
