Now based in Bedford, working as an angling coach with a company called A4S. Were looking for new venues to fish in and around the area. We also do some estate maintenance, platform building, swim clearance, that type of stuff. If anyone would be happy to let us do some coaching and/or maintenance work at their venue, it would be great to hear from you.

Micky, PM me please with some more details about A4S as that’s a new name to me !

          Couple of recommendations to try:-
Phil Stone @ How End Fishery [not far from Bedford] you can PM him on this site [user name pebisit] but I don’t know how often he looks in so it might be worth doing a google search for his phone number/email address !
Shuttleworth College [Nr Biggleswade probably about 30 minutes from Bedford]. Several estate lakes and they used to do fishery management courses so it could be a marriage made in heaven for your group !
Chestnut Pools [nr Langston I believe] a commercial fishery with several lakes.

Let me know if you’re struggling with any of these and I’ll do a bit more delving.

            Hi Mate
Not sure if I’ve missed anything (have only fished there a small handful of times), but Chestnut is one lake and is in Langford.

It might be a little too far, but there’s a disabled fishing charity called the Manderson Trust (http://www.themandersontrust.co.uk/) that might be grateful of some assistance regarding maintenance. They’re based about half way between Cambridge and St. Ives and are considering some extensive redesigns at the moment.

You also have Greensands Fishery (Near Sandy) http://www.greensandsfishery.co.uk/
And Manor Farm Fishery – http://www.manorfarmfishing.co.uk/store/ near Biggleswade – Match lake would be best, 24 peg canal lake with carp to 10lb, bream and tench. The other local venue is Tingrith.

You can’t beat Chestnut Pool for skimmers fishing at the moment though, in the silver fish league on Sunday over 500lb of silver fish was caught by 24 rods! 40lb top weight.

If you need a very close venue try the boating lake by the rowing club near Aspects Leisure Park . Used to hold a large amount of bream and skimmers, bit of a weed problem now but could be a good project for fishery management, weed clearance etc. Sure you could contact the council regarding this. The embankment is also ok if you want a few bites but you will have to put up with the rowers.

Apologies, I’ve had to create a new account

We’ve done ok at chestnut, the lads love the flying bream!
Henlow and Manor Farm are regular places we visit too, always good.

Will have a look at the others, thanks
