Just seen the latest Jimmy Saville inspired red track suits in the local sports shop. A bit quirky and odd, just like the “man” himself, tops are normal adult size but you are expected to squeeze into childs sized bottoms.

JS may well have been a perv, a criminal one at that, all the evidence seems to point that way but I cannot stop thinking about the Simpsons, the episode Homer removed a gummy bear from the baby sitters bum and her was branded a pervert and just about female claimed that Homer had abused them. Even his name became a by-word for a sexual predator.

Jimmy Saville regularly tried to abuse me during my early teens.

He was on Top of the Pops and Jim’ll Fix It every week so I was nearly subjected to hours of inane catchphrases, silly clothes and a ridiculous haircut. Not to mention the effect on the nation’s youth on the meaning of quality broadcasting or the perception of young people held by older people who thought we were enjoying it.
