Don’t know about racist, but some anglers I know are certainly sizeist. I was sitting on my seat box the other day(all 16 stone of me ) and an angler on the next peg called me a ‘fat git’.At this moment in time i’m considering court proceedings!

Might not be many racists but theres plenty of homophobes, I notice you dont see any gay anglers ?

as for being overweight I think most people and anglers I know are according to the body mass index chart having taken up table tennis and changed my eating habits in an effort to get fitter so I could fish or at least get to my peg in fair fettle, I droped from a fat 15stone 10oz to 12stone 2lb prior to this my blood presure was in thetreatable zone, cholesteral high and was about to go on statins before I committed to the healthy eating bit mainly due to being advised by the local nurse, however, blood pressure came back to normal cholesteral reduced was told I wouldn’t need to be put on statins, however being 5ft 7inches I am still at least half stone overweight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for racism I am glad that you don’t see any in table tennis or fishing, these sports/pastimes have always been gentle arts in the pursuit of excellance with a respect for fellow competitors irrespective and long may it continue.

I havent seen any gays where I go fishing, maybe the glebe is like the blue oyster bar of fisheries !!!!!

Angling does nothing to promote participation amongst ethnic minorities.

That’s why it’s full of balding, overweight, middle aged white males.
