          Good AT video clip baitchef,

like the droop comparison Mark carries out with the airity = 3 1/2” better for the air – that’s pretty phenomenal when you think about it.
Also when he adds the 2 airity exts. what is noticeable is how stiff the 16m of the air is despite this – as you’d expect it to droop where the exts. are added.

Looks wonderful all in all – expect this to be new benchmark for poles- certainly be interested to see a stiffness comparison with the z12- given that Daiwa have found a way of greatly increasing rigidity without need for 2m long sections.

I think the droop test said the difference was 3/4″ not 3 1/2″, which is not a lot really Wightangler. Great vid !!!

apologies for having ‘cloth ears’- obviously heard totallty wrong re- the droop ,
                3/4” is’nt much at all.-

Would have been nice for Mark to have also put the airity with 2 exts. in same way as air – for a comparison, perhaps.

Still a lovely bit of kit though.

I sat next to martin green on sunday both of us fishing 16metres he was fishing the air and i had a touny pro after the match i had a waggle with the air and ive got to say it was much better than the air.

I’m not saying the Air isnt a great pole however he was sat about 3ft off the water so its difficult to see what the droop was actually like at 18m, sit on a platform level with water and you would get a better idea.

I wonder how many of these Air v Airty/Pro’s have been against brand new models of the latter two? Not really a fair comparison otherwise as a two year old pole used twice a week isn’t going to be the same as it was new!

Its all part of the fog Gavin, you cannot find objective reviews on anything fishing these days.
If you read Alex’s editorial last month he tell why…. ADVERISERS.

As the major difference is stated to be when going long, does anyone know the price for the air extension? Is it parallel?

That is a very good point! Sections wear with use and the pole gets saggier.

Hands up all those with 16m poles or longer, how many times do you even bother getting the 16m sections out of the bag?
For me its probably once or twice a year.
At the top level its probably routine so less than 1000 anglers across the UK in total approximately. Many of these guys are sponsored so would not use the Air unless they were Daiwas men.
On occasions I have had to fish 16m for a full match I have driven home absolutley washed out.
Big risky therefore to market a 5 grand pole on the basis its a tad stiffer at 16m than the previous best. I know they also claim its more responsive but how can you measure that?
Valid point about the used Aiirty versus new Air too and yet another example of flawed science being used.

The Airity is a superb pole without a doubt, too many on the bank at all levels from club anglers to match anglers at top level, for it to be otherwise.but even if the new Air pole is stiffer and lighter the the Airity, and although advances in technology are always great to see and hear about, price is always the deciding factor with any purchase, and approaching nearly £4k before even adding elastics and bushes etc to the package, puts it in the reach of only a few at best, and out of reach of many.will it become a showpiece item like a couple of other poles did before in the super price bracket,i hope not.
in my opinion only of course.

rjays what i ment to say was having used my torny pro at 16 metres all day and then having a go on the air, straight after at 16 metres the air is much stiffer and lighter, in my opinion.

An intersting observation I made a few years ago (original Power League to Superlegion) and repeated again more recently (Super G8 to GMax1000) is that when fishing with a slightly lower spec pole and then immediately using a higher spec one, the difference is noticeable. However, if you do it the other way round, the difference is magnified hugely.

I’m not a top angler and fish 16m and 17.5 regularly, I would love to get an Air if it will be easier to manage than my pro X.
