I may have a suspicious mind but the last three replies are all from people that have only one post and all joined the forum within 12 hours of each other.
Is someone trying to pull my plonker!
I thought it was a friendly match?
I have heard that paste on your top kit works in the depths of winter

Stunned worm at 6 metres feeding maggot and the bagging waggler is good this time if year!

Done a bit of digging around to find a little info on this venue. Not a great venue from what i can see. More of a nice place to fish rather than a great bag-up venue. Match winning weights are quite small. 50lb should win most matches but anything over 20lb could win based on the results i can find. Could be even harder than this if the weather is bad and the pegging is tight. Seems to be vey much a mixed fishery. So, dont expect lots of match size carp. It is reported that there are plenty of larger carp up to 24lb, a good head of skimmers and crucians plus the normal roach, rudd and tench. Corn on the bomb has produced a few winnng weights. Pellet, or worm and caster at this time of the year for a mixed bag. Makes sense based on the bait bans.

ps, Small balls of paste could work on this type of venue at this time of the year. Especially if you decide to target the skimmers, crucians and the odd larger carp!

                          Hope this helps

How did it fish? What were the weights?

Fished rock hard to be expected.
22lb won it (2 fish in last hour!)
                                18lb 2nd
                                15lb 3rd
4 dry nets out of 18
                                I had 10lb odd (3 carp, 3 bites – 2 were foul hooked)
bay end of the lake better for silvers and carp but not many of either. One chap had 7lb of all roach & rudd all on wag.
                                was a team event
