1. Ghost and harsh nylon nets are not permitted. Only soft fish friendly landing & keepnets to be used. For more info
http://www.anglingfoundation.com
2. Carp over 2lbs and silver fish must be held in separate nets and weighed in separately. You will need at least one net for all silver fish
regardless of size this also includes small carp below 2lbs. All carp over 2lbs to be held in at least one other net. It is however advisable
to use at least two carp nets and to spread your fish equally between each. This is kinder to the fish and aids weighing in. There is a strict
100 lbs limit in any net.
3. No barbel of any size to be held in nets. Barbel do not count towards a match weight.
4. When reaching you peg you must lay out your nets behind you to expose them to as much ultra violet light as possible. This will help to
destroy and SMS or KHV virus present on nets. 10 minutes prior to fishing you may position your nets in the water ready to fish.
5. Only drive on the roads. Max speed 5mph on the Glebe complex. Only park in car park areas, on no account must vehicles be taken onto
grass verges. Matches on the big Lake will be advised regarding parking.
BAITS:
1. No floating baits and subsurface floating baits to be used. No dog biscuit or floating particles.

6. Only coarse pellets to be used.
7. Absolutely no trout pellet to be used.
8. All hookbaits must be put on by hand, the use of compression tubes, cones and similar divises are not permitted.
9. If you decide to leave a match before the final whistle please do not throw your bait into your peg, this may spoil another anglers match. Any
unused bait should be thrown in after the final whistle or into the stock ponds.

2. No free lining.

7. When lead/bomb fishing a neutral density bomb may be used, it must not float, and must not be a bubble type float variant, it must also be
fished with a tail of 20” or 50cm hanging below the bomb.
8. When pole fishing, there must be no deliberate disturbance to the water, no tapping the water , slapping & swinging rigs over the pole is not
permitted, floats must be laid into the water, no cupping of water. Baits must be at least 6” or 15cm below the surface. Baits must not be
held on the surface to intercept fish.
9. All floats must be of convensional design. No polyballs of any size and no ping pong ball rigs.
10. When waggler fishing, all wagglers must be attached by the base, no controllers, no bubble floats, no candles type floats, no slapping

12. No lock & load bushes.

TF_bozphillipsParticipantWill we still be fishing if it is iced up
-
28/03/2013 at 9:37 am #165951
TF_redarmywith the strong winds we have at the moment and temperatures expected on the fri and sat to be around 5-7deg c i very much doubt we will see any ice.i will be monitoring conditions all next week and if things deterioated rapidly then we will consult with the anglers fishing 😀

28/03/2013 at 9:19 pm #165956
tornyalParticipantHi Rich hows the glebe fishing ie baits methods any info would be great 🙂
The northen raiders lol -
29/03/2013 at 8:10 am #165961
TF_holwell53tornyal,
small feeder , either tight over or 3/4 across, most have been using micros, some even a maggot feeder,
maggot or boillie hookbait.
long pole feeding either soft pellet and expanders , or pinging hard pellet.
weather as it is , it will be tough -
29/03/2013 at 1:07 pm #165971
TF_carpless 1Participantdue to the weather i would say that there will be some blanks this year especially on lakes 3, 5, 6 ,7 i can see me being in the shoot for 12 oclock 😮

TF_holwell53chris is it kev simms lol
-
29/03/2013 at 8:11 pm #165988
TF_carpless 1ParticipantVenue expert no 🙂
But 28 on winter league
With a few blanks
60 on two dayer = a few more blanks ice on the lakes as we speak
No bread allowed in two dayer
Bread accounted for more fish in winter league than anything else
Just think it will be hard that’s all
But at least the beer at the shoot will be cold 🙂 -
29/03/2013 at 9:14 pm #165983
TF_jammy1976Doubt there will be many blanks martin, if people’s do the right thing and stick at it, agreed though it’s gonna be tough. There was ice on all the lakes this morning and it’s gone really clear so skimmers will play a part 🙂
-
29/03/2013 at 10:07 pm #165984
TF_holwell53my view is zone 1 will fish the best ,18 pegs on lake 1, 4 on pretties and 8 on uglies , so loads of room ,
zone 2 with 30 anglers on 44 pegs will be harder ,
you will need to draw well on this zone.
fingers crossed its not iced over -

WoodyWith the likelyhood of the venue being frozen given next weeks forecasted temperatures, what will be the cut off point for letting us know if the event is to be cancelled ?
I’ve booked 2 days off work for this and i’d rather not be turning up on the morning to find out its off. -
30/03/2013 at 7:53 pm #166008
TF_kev34Gaz I spoke about this with John odriscoll and he thinks Wednesday will be the cut off day to make a decision.
-
30/03/2013 at 7:57 pm #166009
TF_redarmytommorows winter league will tell us where things are likely to go,if tommorow goes ahead and the lakes are clear then we might be ok
-
30/03/2013 at 9:55 pm #166011
TF_GLEBE1They said on last nights weather that the wind would pick up again next week, just had a look on the BBC weather and its showing slightly higher daytime temps with sun and a good breeze, I reckon we will be ok.
-
30/03/2013 at 11:15 pm #166013
TF_mickydIs there any chance that we will be able to use the bread considering the weather. There will be one bonus to having this early, that is that it isn’t going to cost a fortune in bait.
-
31/03/2013 at 12:18 am #166014
AnonymousBread is usually allowed until the end of the Glebe season. Because this event is less than a week after the normal Glebe season ends. Pus, we still have winter like conditions. Some of the lakes are frozen for christ sake! It must be a reasonable request to allow bread to be used on this occation. Under normal circumstancs. This event would be fished in better conditions. Ice on the lakes and no bread allowed is just petty and stupid and arguing about rules for rules sake. Its a 250 mile round trip for me. Its going to cost a fair bit on money. Maybe its time to request different dates when things have warmed up a bit and there is more chance of a couple of days of reasonale sport.
-
31/03/2013 at 6:24 am #166017
TF_redarmyunfortunately steve this was the only date availible to us 🙁
-
31/03/2013 at 10:04 am #166021
TF_jammy1976Imo, bread isn’t worth arguing about, yes of course it catches a few fish but the carp are tightly schoaled at the minute and if you draw on them you’ll catch them on any bait you choose fish, draw away from the fish and you ain’t gonna catch them bread or no bread.
-
31/03/2013 at 1:00 pm #166024
TF_mpo38Are the lakes frozen today?
-
31/03/2013 at 2:53 pm #166025
TF_jammy1976Yes all the lakes had ice on this morning……not on all the pegs though as glebe 1 has mentioned as long as the breeze picks up we should be ok
-
31/03/2013 at 5:46 pm #166031
TF_GLEBE1Agree about the bread Jamie,it’s not the bee all and end all, there were enough ice free pegs to hold a makeshift knock up today, although my peg was iced bank to bank so i sat on Uglies till 3 o’clock then went down to my peg on lake 4 when it eventually cleared and won the lake with 4 Carps!!! 😀
-
31/03/2013 at 6:02 pm #166032
TF_holwell53Bread is only allowed in winter league, oct to march.
Roy has said NO to using bead in the festival,
will be monitoring the lakes from tues onwards with wed being the cut off day,
but hopefully with the wind forecast we should be alright -
