Well it has been a touch windy these last few days so somebody has to ask the inevitable question

        “Which Umbrella”

I think mine was last seen on Heathrow Air Traffic radar or
Must be suitable for match fishing, probably 60″, had several in the past, but these days need durability as well as functionality, and spikes are always a problem…

        Anyone got a preference ?

        Cheers

gave up with umbrellas apart from a small bait brolly and a good set of waterproofs.

Cheers, will have a look at the Browning, anyone else a preference??

Stav, also gave up on them when I can, and good waterproofs are a great BUT, if you live on these East Coast, fishing out of the car window is sometimes our only option in that nagging wind…..so we use anything, even had a garden flat barrow behind me last week as well as the brolly and thermals…. frozen to the box, should know better… !!!

I use a Daiwa Tournament Windshield. Brilliant for keeping the wind off, very light and very strong. For the brolly spike, I bought a 3ft stainless steel one with a T-Bar. I think it’s a Gardner one.

I’ve got the same problem myself. I’m trying to find a strong brolly with metal ribs – my brolly with fibreglass ribs broke far too easily. I’ve tried to bodge it up with spare whip sections and cable ties but I can’t see it lasting.

Waterline 50 inch Fibrelite Flatback Umbrella

This is one of the best umbrellas on the market, combining all the features of a flatback umbrella, with the weight reduction of a Fibre-Lite. Reinforced in the right areas, ensuring this will last as long as anything else available on the market.
Superbly light, this nylite-covered brolly has all the advantages of the uni-pole system but with a flatback, meaning 2 panels rather than just 1 panel rests on the floor. This gives much more stability and protection in inclement weather than a standard brolly.
                  Ideal all weather conditions.
                  50 inch 6.3mm diameter flexi-fibreglass ribs.
Heron grey colour acts as camouflage against skyline.
                  Combi-brolli frame.
                  Supplied in a protective sleeve.
                  Weight including protective sleeve: 2.6kg.
