I usually fish Python and also Sycamore, which pegs are good for skimmers on Pollawyn, and what sort of depths are at say 6m? – WA lake map says 9′ deep?
Also, pole methods / baits etc PLEASE.
        Thanks

Fish 6mm meat you will catch loads of skimmers, most pegs have skimmers particulary high bank, last time I went I had 67lb of skimmers from peg 12 meat shallow at 9m it was lovely fishing I started on the deck about 7ft deep and then caught at 3ft for the second half of the match, I think that was my most enjoyable days fishing ever I like fishing for skimmers myself.

            Anthony,
I am going late April, usually do well on worms/meat/corn on Sycamore pegs 9 or 10 for skimmers with a 0.75 Drennan Tipo 0.15-0.13 and B911 or PR456 in size 16 about 6′ deep.
I know there a some big carp in Pollawyn, so just doing some rigs now – 1g Tipo with 0.17-0.15 but a size 14 hook.

Just come back, pollawyn fishing really hard. It is very clear and the only decent weight was on peg 26 ( 70 odd pounds ). I was on 19, had one carp in 3.5 hrs, then dropped on my short line with double caster. Had 34lbs of perch, 18 of them and lost 6. Most amazing net I have ever seen and they were still coming.

                    Hi rayroy

Polly has been fishing hard of late, but not surprised, very cold for Cornwall at this time of year. By the time you go it should be fishing really well, however I assume you will be following the two spring festivals so it will have taken a bashing.
Good skimmer pegs – 15 to 27 also 31 to 33 I would target these pegs first, but to be honest they can be caught all around the lake there’s that many in polly.

As said previously meat up in water will sort out the better samples to 4lbs. Great sport to be had with F1s on the wag shallow – averaging over 1.5lbs.

I’m back down soon for the Dynamite Festival so will let you know if it’s improved (first sign of warm weather it’s going to fish it’s nuts off).

                    Abramis
