Hi mate,
I used to fish it alot with our club and won quite a few of the matches.
I always fished the method feeder as tight as I could to the Island and I mean tight in inches of water, 2 or 3 foot short cast again. It sometimes took an hour plus for the carp to turn up but when they do you won’t go wrong.
you need to cast every 3 or 4 minutes with corn or meet on the hook. Take dead reds as well fished on and 18 as there are a number of what I call parrot nose carp where their mouth is so small they can not suck a grain of sweetcorn in (i think its a particular strain, not hook damage).. You know if they are there as you start getting real iffy bites.
Also, feed a pole line to one side about 5 to 6 meteres out with 6mm meat and hemp and maybe a few castors. You will catch the odd carp on this line but you will catch bream and skimmers here.
Hot pegs are Peg 2 and 22 which are the tip of the island as you walk in.
margins very rarely produce in my experience, they look lovely and quite deep but not many fish.
If it was me, I would sit it out on the Method and only look at your pole line after 3 hours.
let me know how you get on.
