Mick and Tim, two close friends and keen fisherman, were enjoying an excellent session on a canal not far from a main road when a funeral procession strolled slowly by.
Tim immediately shipped back his pole, took his cap off and held it tightly on his chest.
Mick was so taken back by Tim’s action and told him how touched, and surprised, he was by Tim’s action and told him that in a million years he could have never imagined Tim showing such emotion at a passing funeral.
Tim, whilst shipping his pole back in, replied to Mick ” I was rather surprised myself, but then realised that was the least I could do as I had been married to her for 45 years”.
