Get some pollyballs from a material/dress making type shop It cost me £3 for about a million of them in various sizes a few years ago. They stuff cuddly toys and bean bags with them i think. Glu in some 12lb line and you have a very strong and cheap float for up in the water/shallow and close to snags type float. Cost next to nothing and almost impossible to break. At worst the odd float might get ripped off the rubbers but takes seconds to put another one on.

Thanks for the kind comments I’m not currently making floats I’m too busy at work,anyone wanting super strong floats try this but be very carefull ! Get a bottle of liquid super glue from Poundstretcher and a cheap kids paintbrush, paint your floats with 4 coats of this stuff make sure each coat is properly dried before adding the next and for christs sake becarefull the viscosity of this stuff is like water I’ve had some proper skin bonding incidents doing this and I also flicked some in my eye once. The glue gives a rock hard finish much harder than hard as nails and it dries clear not like normal superglue which dries white. This is spot on for building bomb proof floats but can’t emphasise enough that its an unsafe practice
