Nothing new really what i did but I just want to talk about a method I feel may interest a few anglers and possibly help them develop their skills, this is how I caught skimmers last Sun on a match, this method turned very iffy bites into a skimmer being nailed every time. I was fishing worm and caster in 4ft of water so it wasn’t quite deep enough for double bulking so to speak, my floats were 0.2 and 0.3grm long 1.2mm bristle (4.5mm) I will post a pic, after 2 hrs of fishing 1 inch over depth with my floats dotted down I was going nowhere just getting odd fish and some very confusing bites, I decided to take 2 no 11 off and shallow up by 3 inches and then this meant the float was stuck out like a sore thumb until I used an inch long piece of dendra to trim the rig back down, the fishing was instant a proper lift bite every time a skimmer picked up the worm I was able to read bites Id previously not seen and my catch rate doubled… just a tidy skimmer rig for a few of you to try.
