  Hi everyone,
  
  First of all I’m happy to be part of a new online fishing community, thanks for having me! I hope this post isn’t considered spammy, as it truthfully is not an advertisement or a sell. It’s a heads-up that crowdfunding websites like Kickstarter are becoming great places for anglers to look for new products. I’m from a small design co. in Glasgow, Scotland called Meso Design. We recently launched Minke on Kickstarter, a multi-tool that makes tying clinch knots easier.

  Hopefully we’ll follow in the successful footsteps of the still-running Tenkara Rod Co campaign (give them a search if you’re into Tenkara).
  
  I’d really appreciate any feedback on the idea or the campaign. This is (hopefully soon to be) a crowdfunded project, it’s the people that make it happen.

  It’s a lovely bit of design, but useless for me. I can’t remember the last time I tied an eyed hook without using a knot less knot. Tend to use spade end hooks for which there already are perfectly good hooktyers.

  Oh, and the hook sizes I tend to use range from 14s to 24s so your product does not fully cover me. I use a stonflo one which does, but admittedly would be no good for flys.

  Hi Ally, really appreciate the feedback. You’re definitely right in that’s it’s not for absolutely everyone, and not for every style. Alternative hook compatibility has definitely been a big aspect of the ongoing developments. We arrived at 8-16, but feedback such as yourself’s will absolutely feed into further development.
  
  Some really important feedback we’ve had is from those with impaired vision and dexterity, so as well as being very handy for many anglers, we reckon it’s got a lot of importance for some as well.
