Report on the Redditch Federation of Anglers open match held on Arrow Valley Lake on Saturday November 9th 2013.

Following a cold night with temperatures only just above freezing the lake fished remarkably well with skimmer bream up to the pound mark still feeding freely in all areas for most of the fifteen anglers taking part.
It was skimmers all the way for Alf Hand who caught steadily throughout on a small open ended feeder with red maggot hookbait to take pole position with over 44lb from permanent peg five.
Over on the other side of the lake at peg 64, runner-up Dave Schofield continued his recent good form with another excellent catch of over 42lb. Dave took fish on long pole then switched to a small feeder approach also with red maggot hookbait.
Third placed Gaz Smith was on peg 57 where he caught well late in the match on long pole with casters on the hook and feeding groundbait.
Section prizes went to Colin Harvey on peg 61 and John Walkden on 54 both taking skimmers on maggots, Colin to the feeder and John on the pole.
