In the lucky situation where i can blow a grand on a new pole, so the question is which one. this will be a one off purchase so got to get it right.

will be fishing mostly woodlands thirsk, and the oaks sessay,

        my choices – thoughts are,

        MAP 501
        BEAST MASTER AX
        PRESTON GXR 2600
        BROWNING XITAN ULTRA STRONG

any one already got one of these, used a mates or suggest other that they use.

much appreciated, have had to work hard to get this dosh together dont want to make a mistake i end up regretting

One of the Browning lads that fishes the open matches at the Oaks is selling his Browning Z9 with the standard package for £1000.
That will be better than all those on the list mate.
PM me if you’re interested fella.

Agree with Craig, your grand will go much further on a used pole then new. There seems to be an abundance available as some folk always seem to be upgrading.

Check out Tricast first…I got a Veriton….tougher than anything on the market today (unless you tread on it!) . .and spares available forever…and fishable at 16mts!!….plus you will get change from your £1000 budget.

out of the ones you mentioned think map would probably be best. may also be worth considering a daiwa g20 although that might run u to 1100 ish new.
got a feeling the lad theyre on about above is tony watson. hes the manager of fishing republic sunderland so if u phone that shop you might get a good pole at a decent price.

Don’t think Tonys pole is up for sale until the new year until the new ****** comes out.

g20 is about £1200 new now but a better pole than any of the ones he is thinking of any would also keep its value for re sale if ever needed
