line clip problems

  recently started using shimano areo feeder reels, and have been having problems with the line slipping out of the line clip, no less than nine times in the last match I fished I have tried putting the line in the clip clockwise and anti clockwise with no sucsess, as anyone else found this a problem and if so is there a solution to fix this problem,,

  Had same problem with a fox stratos, finished up wrapping the line round twice. Not an ideal solution so bought a daiwa for the clipped up work.

  try putting a pellet band on the clip and then clip the line.

  Instead of going under the line clip, go over and under the clip.

  Thats how I’ve always done it, but it still pops out on the stratos.

  How do you go over and under a line clip?

  can only assume that they go under the clip and then around it before going under again which i have tried but found no better than the usual way of just under the clip regardless of which reel i am using.

  I take the line past the clip taking it down and then under once, this forms a loop around the clip as opposed to slipping the line under without passing the clip first. Hope this makes sense, it’s always easier to show than explain.
