PACKINGTON SOMERS FISHERYREPORT
MOLANDS Molands was restocked with 1000lb of bream, tench and roach during the week and this along with some milder weather saw the fishing improve. Carp and big F1’s actually made up the better match catches with the newer fish encouraging them onto the feed. The best tactic has been a pellet feeder fished tight to the island with popped up expander, punched bread or dead red maggot on the hook. Top pegs have been 2, 8, 15, 25 – 27, 40, 43 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS Skimmers have provided the best of the action on Gearys with the high bank area providing catches to 20lb on pole fished caster, pellet or pinkies fished over ground bait. Just the odd carp coming out with popped up bread the best tactic.
LITTLE GEARYS Fished a little better this week with the far side along pegs 7 – 15 the best area. F1’s and the odd carp showing to pellet feeder fished down the shelf on the island or pole at 13 metres with red maggot or expander fished over micros.
WILLOW Pegs 5 and 6 are the pegs on Willow with lots of F1’s and carp in the 1 – 3lb range showing. Pellet feeder fished tight up to the island alternating baits regularly to keep the fish coming.
GRATUITIES A little patchy this week with only a few pleasure anglers fishing. The corner pegs 1, 8, 9 and 15 have been the best with pellet or caster fished down the edge the best approach for carp, trench skimmers and crucians.
