On Sunday the best fish for 3 years was caught by Matt Tuck weighing 14lb 6oz. Matt was anchored off Pylon Point over deep water using a long leader and a team of buzzers. The fish took a size 12 black buzzer on the point. The fish was carefully returned after weighing.
Fishing was steady last week with anglers needing to work hard for a good bag. Trout on the surface during the day are taking damsels, both nymph and adult. Some fish when spooned have also had snails inside.
During the evening there has been a huge hatch of small sedges along with small buzzers. Good evening rise as long as the wind is not too strong.
Providing the weather doesn’t get too hot the bank fishing should continue to produce with the high water level meaning the weed growth is not a problem.
Boat anglers are catching good bags apart from on windy days when presentation is difficult.
