FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 5/10/14

Last week 48 rods caught 100 fish for an average of 2.08.

The Day Ticket water Cocks Close re-opened on Saturday after the summer break and anglers were soon into fish. It was a subdued opening because of the wet weather with a dozen anglers fishing, mainly from boats.

Fish were caught mainly from along the wires bank and down into the far corner from the lodge. The rod average over the weekend was just over 2 fish per rod but this will improve as the conditions cool off. There were plenty of fish in the 3 – 4lb bracket caught.

Tom Melton of Solihull had six fish to 4lb 4oz using small Buzzers fished on a floating line. Roy Nicholson of Arley caught five fish to 3lb 8oz on a Gold Head Buzzer fished on a floating line.

The members’ waters continue to fish hard but like Cocks Close should improve greatly as the colder weather comes.
