FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 17/5/15

Last week 125 rods caught 433 fish for an average of 3.46.

The Fishery is still in fine form although the fish are becoming a little trickier to catch as they are feeding on small Caenis and Buzzers. There are fish moving all over the pools and small CDC Emergers, Hoppers, peary Wickhams, Shipmans Buzzers, superglue Buzzers and Damsels are the top flies at the moment.

The biggest fish of the week was a 10lb 8oz rainbow caught by Nik Howarth of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat on Great Pool and it was the best of a seven fish catch which all fell to Buzzers fished on a floating line. Eric Holloway of Birmingham took an 8lb rainbow using a small Diawl Bach on a floating line whilst fishing on the Great Pool. Andrew Moulder of Dorridge caught six fish on Park Meadow pool with his best going at 4lb and these came to small Buzzers on a floating line.

On Cocks Close, Dave Kimbrell of Coventry caught and released an 8lb rainbow which was the best of a five fish catch taken from a boat on Cocks Close. Paul Fleeman of Redditch had an enjoyable day fishing small Klinkhammer dry flies whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close catching 13 fish to 3lb. On the bank of Cocks Close, fishery regular Dave Bratby of Birmingham caught eight fish to a dry Daddy Long Legs.
