FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 10/5/15

Last week 92 rods caught 284 fish for an average of 3.08.

It has been a little trickier this week with lots of fish moving on all of the pools but they have been a little harder to tempt. Small dries such as Hoppers, CDC Emergers, pearly Olives and Shipmans Buzzers are the top patterns to catch them off the surface but pulling a Damsel Nymph or Diawl Bach or a team of Buzzers has also accounted for a few fish this week too.

The biggest fish of the week was a 6lb rainbow caught by Mick Hood of Nuneaton who was fishing from a boat with David Green and they both had their five fish limit catch on Buzzers fished on floating line. Paul Flanner of Worcester fished small Emerger patterns on a floating line to tempt 12 fish to 4lb, again from a boat on Cocks Close.

On the members’ water Great Pool, Nic Howarth of Nuneaton caught seven fish to 5½lb and they were all caught on small Buzzers on a floating line. Paul Reay of Birmingham fished from a boat on Park Meadow and caught seven fish to 5½lb which all came to black Buzzers fished on a floating line.

The best areas have been the old boat jetty and lodge corner of Cocks Close, the dam wall on Park Meadow and the middle island down to the dam on Great Pool.
