FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 15/11/15

Last week saw 56 rods catch 245 fish for an average of 4.45 per rod.

It has been a good week with both bank and boat catching well on Cocks Close and some nice fish coming out too.

The biggest rainbow of the week was caught by fishery regular Rod Lacey of Nuneaton and it weighed 10lb 8oz and fell to a small Buzzer fished on a floating line from a boat on Cocks Close. Mr Claypole of Rugby had an 8lb rainbow which was the best of a seven fish bag caught from a boat on Cocks Close.

The Packington Fly Fisheries held their annual bank match on Cocks Close with Mark Sturgess of Nuneaton winning with a five fish limit that included a 6lb 10oz rainbow. Mark had all of his fish on Cats Whiskers fished on an intermediate line.

On Park Meadow, Ian Simpson of Kenilworth caught four fish to 7lb using a small Cats Whisker whilst fishing from a boat.

The top flies have been Damsel Nymph, Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, sunken Daddies, black Buzzer, Diawl Bach and GRHE.

The best areas have been the lodge corner and the old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close and on Park Meadow, the area around the middle of the dam wall and the far bank from the jetty has been best.
