Thinking of replacing my old tourney pro with the new 2015 tourney pro X with the match package. My question is how do you find the performance of the side pullers on the new interlastic kits, are they as good as the normal side puller kits. It looks to me that you could have problems grabbing the elastic, also with the two holes system the elastic is threaded through do you find the elastic perishes and wares quickly. Also if anyone on here as one of the new tourney pros, are they an improvement one the original, i know the finish as improve, but they say the reaction as improved. What are your thoughts.

I don’t understand why Daiwa’s have two holes unless its something to do with patents.
The best system I have seen to minimise wear is to use a mulletto roller together with a single bushed hole in the sidewall of the section.
Elastic then runs around the roll and exits at 90 degrees through the side wall, very little abrasion. so lasts longer.
I don’t like the Preston system either as it puts too much bending into the side wall, unlike the mulletto bung which distributes all the load equally around the wall.
          Each to his own.
Just bought the air and did not bother with inter elastic kits I just don’t see the point of two holes.

            Thanks for the reply John

I totally agree with you, I don’t understand why Daiwa are selling there new poles with these interelastic kits when the anglers are fitting there competitors roller puller kits in them. The problem I have got is Daiwa don’t give you the option of picking your top kits like other pole suppliers. So I have the predicament of buying the new tourney pro x which is the pole of coice, but with top kit s I don’t, or buying a different pole with the top kits of my choice. Unless anyone on here knows different.

If you talk to your dealer I am sure he will negotiate on kits as they are all genetic. Some never use power kits preferring match kits, others like the power kits.
The air I bought just had 4 match kits, I bought the standard 13 m package.
I have the pro x and pro 16m poles and the 14 and 16m sections fit the air.
I do seem to recall daiwa put two holes in in order not to breach patents but cannot be sure.
You always have the option of buying the pole only and then adding the kits you want.
