        FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 7/2/16

        Last week 54 rods caught 255 fish for an average of 4.72.

        It was a great week with excellent fishing despite some bad weather conditions.

        The largest fish of the week was a 10lb 7oz rainbow caught from the bank of Cocks Close by John Taylor of Birmingham who was fishing a Cats Whisker Lure on an intermediate line. Ian Reeve of Rugby had a 10lb 6oz rainbow from a boat on Cocks Close and this fell to a white Minkie fished on a floating line. Mr J Woodcock of Higham-on-the-Hill caught fish of 8lb, 7lb 14oz and 6lb 8oz whilst fishing from the bank and these all fell to a Cats Whisker. Terry Holder of Barwell fished the bank of Cocks Close and took fish of 6lb and 4lb 3oz in a seven fish catch which again fell to Cats Whsikers.

        The road bank area on Cocks Close has been the hot spot with the wind blowing the fish into the bank.

        Cats Whiskers, black Tadpole, Montana Nymph, Damsel Nymph and Bloodworm have been the top flies this week.

          Packington Fisheries are found in mature landscapes around the Packington Estate from the Heart of England at Meriden. The trout fishery comprises six lakes : all with excellent scenic appeal and are well stocked using fin perfect Range and Brown Bass. Minimum stock dimensions is 1 1/4lb, your record Rainbow is usually 21lb 8oz, Brown Trout 10lb as well as Blue Trout 12lb. Our Coarse Fishery contains seven pools, four stock ponds and a stretch of your River Blythe. The fishery is usually permanently manned as well as the ticket office is usually stocked with a tiny bit of tackle, bait as well as refreshments.
