Finesse (with strength as per usual)

I know some people have often said bespoke great for bagging but for when it is hard etc ? well IMO the bespoke guys have entered a new era with many fantastically fine floats for those times / days when you need something finer.

Quite correct NWCA most of us now do floats for all situations not just out and out bagging models.

MW has been making “fine” patterns for a very long time but due to being not much call for them, hasn’t made them in large enough numbers to put in the range. There was a range (called the DW’s funnily enough ;o) ) that were put up on the site, but they didn’t sell in large enough numbers (designed for silver fish work/light F1 with small or natural baits) so we took them off. Those that did buy them keep asking for them as special orders. Maybe they will come back with the new body material – only market demand will tell though.

I’m currently testing a range of cane tipped silverfish floats made in a more traditional way with tip and stem material meeting in the middle of the float body, this gives the float good balance and is still proving to be very durable as they are put together with strong glue and a hard coating.

I have been using them for about 3 months on skimmer dominated venues with some roach and carp mixed in, catching good weights with many in the 30-60lb range and have not managed to break one yet!

They will be listed in the shop soon, some photos can be seen here.

Would I be deluding myself to hope that any of the fantastic float makers on the site would be interested in doing some Dufil style full wires, the one’s where the line and the stem goes through the body?

Got hold of a few for winter canal fishing and can’t understand why no one has taken the idea on….

Never seen those ones Irk. I used to buy some very tiny incredibly fine Dufils from Daves of Middlewich at a time when Jeff Moors / Mohmar boys were using their float. Long time ago. I do far less bloodworm fishing now but I used to use a Desque Diamond Shaped All Wire model.
