You know Im to old to be interesting. Have you got yourself another paper round then, or just window licking.

I had a look before I chose my colmic. It’s lovely and light but quite spongy in the sections. I thought the Colmic was a little heavier but was more responsive, settled quicker and was a lot simmer in section diameter. The preston is clearly based on the Maver ones from reglass, if you want one I’d look at the elite 88.

havnt had the weather to test it for big carp but it seems pretty strong. if ur payin 3 grand for a top end pole id expect it to be strong enough and not crumble. 1 thing i would say is the top kits are quite short so u might need to buy some spare no 4s depending on where you fish of course

ive got a preston pole already. if the top kits are the same length then their not a problem! so plenty of spares! stuck between whether to stick with preston or go daiwa!! hmmmm

I went to Bobco in Leeds and had a look at the Maver Elite 66 + 88’s and they are fantastic, both are very light, rigid and very well balanced. They are doing them at very good prices 66-£2350 + 88-£2700, they come with plenty of spares and are well worth a look. To be fair there really wasn’t £350 difference in them, I think the only difference is the carbon used in the top kits which made the 88 feel very slightly better in response.
I also had a look at the Fireblood and was very disappointed, it felt heavy, un-balanced and droopy next to the Mavers.

mjk380 at least your in the warm doing that. But why are you planning on spending all that money on a pole, only to lend it to someone else ???
